About

The LSFN invites you to be among the first to hear the results of an innovative first-ever study, conducted by the State Bar of California, that examines the justice gap in California.  Additionally, the latest data regarding the recruitment & retention crisis currently facing civil legal service providers in the state will be presented.

Participants of this funders-only briefing, will have the opportunity to discuss the results of these pivotal studies and will walkaway with data-driven funding strategies they can implement to help ensure access for every Californian.

As part of its mission and commitment to advancing access, the State Bar throughout 2019 has conducted the California Justice Gap Study, the first of its kind. The study hopes to improve the broader understanding of current legal services needs and opportunities for helping to close the justice gap. The California study evaluated how the costs of legal education affect access and examined potentially innovative remedies to this problem, such as loan forgiveness incentives, that could influence the supply side of the justice gap.
